Elliot has regressed into a grumpy guy at night. For weeks he's been going to sleep easily at night. (Naps have never really been an issue.)
Since we got back from Las Vegas, he has ended his days by crying and screeching. I don't think it's because he's overly tired because it doesn't matter what time we start. As soon as we lay him down, it starts. The last two nights have been a bit better- he goes to sleep without a show but wakes up a while later with a cry and is the unhappiest guy. It's like he realizes that this is going to be a long nap and wants no part. Ugh.
And his addiction to the pacifier is solid. When he lets it go, he often wakes up. Any ideas people out there?

Depending how he is on grabbing things, I used to spread 5 or 6 around the crib and at least he had a better chance of grabbing one!
Random thought - maybe it's the start of teething. Someone mentioned to me that tooth pain intensifies when lying down, thus the screaming... When you get desperate, you reach for straws.
*hugs*
we've heard this too, but he's napping just fine, it's just at bedtime!
I think he's getting practiced being fussy and we should make Elliot's awake life very, very boring so he'll enjoy going to sleep. Not neglectful boring mind you, but just holding him and facing a wall.
I'm going to try out my theory this weekend, it's supposed to rain.
Teething came up last night as a reason as well when we met with other parents. Though this morning his eye was goopy again, so maybe he's got another ear infection?
Funny, Chad. Very funny.
I think it will be a long weekend.
