I started back to work last Thursday. Elliot gets to spend time with Vrim and I get to exercise my brain and have adult interaction. I'm glad it's only 20 hours- I'm pretty sure I would have hated being away full time. He's been fussy with Vrim a lot of the time and doesn't like the bottle. Thursday was especially difficult as he spent a lot of the day crying and wouldn't be calmed easily. I'm pretty sure he's at the age where he's starting to notice when mommy and daddy aren't around. I know it will get better and he'll get used to spending time away from Chad and I. It's funny that in a few years I know he'll be begging to spend time with Vrim because, let's face it, she's way cooler than Mom & Dad.
Today we're going to get the next round of vaccinations. I'm also going to talk to her about starting Elliot on solids. We think he's ready. He's still up every 3 hours at night to eat and I really think he'd stay down longer if he had more in his tummy.
He's grasping objects really well, is nearly sitting up on his own and has recently started lunging for objects and people. About 3 weeks ago he started reaching for the food, plates and glasses on the table so eating with him on our laps has gotten more and more challenging.
He's adjusting to his crib pretty well. We're trying to take turns putting him to bed so he'll allow either one of us to do it as he gets older (fingers crossed). We've developed a routine and he seems to be taking to it well.
Though Elliot started rolling from back to tummy at about 3 months, he's really doing it often now. Chad's gone in to find him on his tummy in his crib more than once. He's a really strong guy.
We're off to run errands. Yay Costco!
Love,
Elif
