Props to Ninja Moms Everywhere
Just after this picture was taken, Elliot discovers gravity... again... but before his soft BIG head can hit decking, Elif's foot (the very one in the left frame) is there to cradle his noggin, not a nanosecond too soon. Within a half-second, she was down on one knee stabilizing him.
This is not the first time such feets of ninja-prowess have surfaced. I posit there is an electromagnetic field excited by imminent danger that triggers a reflexive limb to shoot out in the nick of time. Only further study can get to the bottom. Luckily for us, Elliot is on the cusp of walking so there will be plenty more ocassions to collect evidence. That will probably the last time I will ever write "Luckily for us, Elliot is ...walking."

Visiting Grandma and Grandpa
We got to go see Grandma and Grandpa last weekend. Elliot thought her birthday cake was dee-licious. Three hours later, we learned how he reacts to that much sugar. Mostly there was barrel-rolling and squeals as he flopped forward and back, throwing his body around on the bed.

He wasn't so sure about Mom on the plane. Sad we'll have to buy him a seat soon considering the fact that he wants to sit on our laps even if he has his own seat. He's still a great traveler and he was waving and smiling at everyone on the plane. Of course, we're talking about a 2 hour flight here, we'll check back in after we've gone overseas.

Elliot really liked his snuggle and relax time. Grandpa also taught him how to turn over the pots to get the best possible sound out of them when he whacks at them with a wooden spoon. Thanks, Grandpa!

Oh, no...
I'm scooping butternut squash out of its skin when I look over to see Elliot take two steps toward me. When I made the 'wow' face, he furrowed his brow and grabbed for my leg. This was 10 minutes ago; he's resisted any repeats.
We're in big trouble.

regression
Let's have a moment of silence for the easy to bed routine we once had.
...
...
...
Bring on the sleep regression. We're back to months 8-12 where not much related to sleep seemed easy. What was a 10 minute routine is now an indeterminate amount of pouting, howling and Curious George throwing marathon.
This is how we all feel:
