3rd birthday

Chad and Elliot celebrated on his birthday with a pre-dinner trip to the local ice cream shop. They wore the crowns that Vrim helped Elliot make during the walk there and back. Apparently they got some extra attention- and Elliot got some birthday cash from a neighbor. Elliot got to open his gifts including a really cool box from Chad's eldest sister and her family. There were individually wrapped presents with riddles on the outside and the box was littered with what seemed like a family size bag of chocolate kisses. He loved it.

Sunday we had a birthday party. Learning from last year, we told E he could invite 3 of his friends. We finally thought it was time to break out the silly string Grandma and Grandpa sent Elliot a while back so we littered the front yard while it was still sunny and warm. We had mini brioche bun burgers, sweet potato fries and, by request, banana cake (really yellow cake with banana pudding in between and a chocolate sour cream frosting) with peanut butter ice cream. Vrim and Robert brought E two goldfish in a new house and Laura and Chris introduced Moon Sand to the group. Thanks everybody!

Pepin

Chad made an awesome dinner last night of fish with a wine reduction shallot mushroom sauce, potato pancakes and brocoli out of Jacque Pepin's cookbook. Elliot had to be bribed to eat the fish with promises of more broccoli. It was sauteed in a little bit of oil with some salt and I have to say was the best I've ever had. No idea how he did it.

The night after my birthday Vrim and Rob came over and cooked some absolutely amazing food for us.

Working

Elliot sometimes comes to work with me and apparently this is what he thinks I do:

It looks about right- papers everywhere and a phone to my ear. When he says he's going to work, he sets up his phone and papers on the rug, gets on his airplane push toy and makes a meeting with me before he takes off. He then calls me to tell me he's ready to see me and I sit in his office with him.
