Our friend Erich took these during a bonfire at Vrim's yesterday after some gardening:

Artist at work

His favorite part really is squeezing WAY too much paint out of the tubes.

Easter

We started with mango coconut pancakes and ended with eggs and sugar. The basket was a big hit this year as was the egg hunt. Last year at Nonnie and Pap's he asked us to rehide the eggs for him a few times. This year after the original hunt, he hid them for us (1/2 were well hidden and about 1/3 were dumped unceremoniously in the middle of the lawn) then continued to go out and hide them for himself to find. Hours of fun!

Hotdog disappointment

Last week at Costco, Elliot wanted a hot dog. I told him we were going to have lunch at home instead. On the way to the car, he told me he was very disappointed about the hot dog.

Tonight while getting ready for bed, he was kind of complaining about not wanting it to be bedtime. I went to check on him in the bathroom a little afraid he might whine about bedtime. Instead, he looks up at me, laughs and says, "Mom, I'm still disappointed about the hotdog." His timing was genius.

Dye, glue and scissors

Today we decorated eggs at Elliot's friend's house. The most exciting part for both seemed to be cracking and crunching the empty dyed eggs for their collages. Note: even hollow eggshells are hard for a toddler to crack by knocking against their heads.

Snippets

On the way home from food shopping to have a nap: "I don't like quiet time because when I close my eyes, robots hurt my eyes."

In the last few weeks, E has become 3. Fully. Later in the day, he screamed for 4 minutes about a piece of cheese. Granted this was before nap time. How long do "the 3s" last?
