Elliot's preschool class held a moving up ceremony to celebrate some kids moving up to the second year in the class and the older kids moving on to Kindergarten. Instead of diplomas they received posters that had their body outlines on them with a short message from each classmate saying what they liked about the kid. It was short and sweet and there were banana splits in the yard afterward. The splits were a nod to their "split days" where they were grouped into sprinkles or ice cream and divided into two groups for the day for age appropriate social developmental lessons.
It was followed a few days later by a school-wide potluck picnic.
